[N1019] de GRANDVILLARS (90) vers DELLE (90) 14.04.2013

On 14 April 2013 at about 01:30, a woman driving on the N1019 from Grandvillars toward Delle saw a black sphere move in a straight line for a few seconds before disappearing behind trees. No other account was obtained. GEIPAN says the sighting does not fit the usual misidentifications, but considers its relative distance and straight movement to make it only slightly unusual. The account has little evidential strength because only one person saw it, briefly, after a very long day. GEIPAN cannot exclude an illusion, a nocturnal bird or a fatigue-related vision problem. It considers the case's low unusualness insufficient to justify a detailed investigation. At the time the source was written, GEIPAN had not yet received the official gendarmerie report. It provisionally classified the case as C for insufficient information and corroboration.
