Case description
On Saturday 25 May 2013 at 23:05, a witness saw a colored flashing light with a red halo move slowly and rise into cloud. No particular sound was heard during the 2-minute sighting.
The witness described white, red and yellow flashes arriving from the west. The video shows a yellow light surrounded by red. Wind was blowing toward the witness (see the weather record).
The sighting fits a sky lantern released along the line of sight, 1–2 km away. A Saturday evening is a common occasion for private-party releases. The flashing probably came from uneven burning of the lantern's burner.
