Open this case in the interactive AtlasCase description
At 23:45 on 29 May 2013, rather than 30 May as written in the witness's questionnaire, a motorist at Ménil-Hubert-sur-Orne (61) saw a black pebble-shaped phenomenon several tens of metres above the ground. It had 2 red lights, one at the front and one at the rear, and moved northwest before disappearing behind a hedge. A high-pitched hum was heard during the 1-minute observation.
GEIPAN rated the strangeness moderate because this did not fit familiar misidentifications and the pebble shape was unusual in UAP reports, although the movement was fairly slow and straight. It found no reason to doubt the witness's sincerity, but he alone reported it, provided no photographs or video and gave only a brief description. The narrative therefore assesses the evidential strength as moderate; the French summary instead calls it good. See the investigation report.
Further accounts might better characterise the case, either explaining it or strengthening its evidence. GEIPAN classified the unusual, moderately supported observation D1: unexplained phenomenon.
