2013-06-02 — BIEVILLE-BEUVILLE

At 10:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2013, a witness at Biéville-Beuville saw an orange light moving silently across the sky and took a photograph. The straight course, weekend timing and photographs were consistent with a sky lantern. Weather information indicated a light northerly wind; the witness described movement from northeast to southwest. GEIPAN considered local geographical conditions a possible reason for the directional difference. In a later telephone conversation the witness said that, after seeing sky lanterns on July 14, he recognized the same kind of object.
