POUSSAN (34) 07.06.2013

On 7 June 2013 at 01:00 in Poussan (34), a witness was puzzled by a fixed white light in the sky. He described a white point with a horizontal luminous trail and a pinkish curved shape below. No particular sound was heard. He saw the same thing the following night. GEIPAN commissioned someone to survey the village surroundings at night for a possible fixed light, without success. The witness and a neighbour eventually examined it closely and identified streetlighting reflected on an antenna. Photograph 6730 is fairly dark and approximates the naked-eye view; photograph 6738, taken with a longer exposure, reveals the cause. GEIPAN classifies this case of low strangeness A: fully identified.
