On Saturday 10 August 2013 at about 19:30, several people saw a dark cigar-shaped object pass silently through the sky. It travelled fairly quickly in the wind just below cloud. The intermittent observation lasted 15–20 seconds. GEIPAN considers the accounts very precise and the witnesses highly reliable, with moderate strangeness. No hypothesis fits every reported detail, but an aircraft or drone remains possible if viewing conditions hid identifying features; alternatively, it could have been a windborne object such as an aircraft-shaped balloon. The investigation could establish neither a certain nor an approximate identification. With moderate strangeness and insufficient precise information about distance estimates and wind, the case is classified C.
