On 3 October 2013 at about 22:05, a witness saw a stationary, vivid orange semicircle apparently low in the sky. The observation lasted 5 minutes. More than a year later, after considering various possible misidentifications, GEIPAN proposed an on-site investigation. The witness replied that he had already found the cause himself: a distant streetlamp. GEIPAN classified the case A as a streetlamp observation.
