On 25 October 2013 at 20:00, 2 people saw a stationary bright white point in the sky. Venus was in the southwest, particularly bright at magnitude −5, described as its maximum. Very clear air, with 35 km visibility despite clouds, made it especially conspicuous (see Météociel). Passing cloud subsequently hid it. GEIPAN classifies the case A: Venus. The witness estimated 45° elevation, but the photograph shows a much lower position compatible with Venus's actual 8°30′ elevation.
