On 14 December 2013 at 03:00, a driver saw a silvery ball of fire cross the sky very rapidly and disappear northeast. No other account was reported. A bright ball crossing in under 1 second suggests a fireball, produced by a comet or asteroid fragment entering the atmosphere. The date coincides with the Geminid meteor-shower peak; BOAM recorded dozens that night. GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable Geminid fireball.
