The Douai (59) title dates this case 2 February 2014, but the narrative opens with 2 January 2014 at 18:30, when 2 people saw several orange lights move slowly and silently across the sky. Only 1 account was submitted. GEIPAN finds that orange balls moving with the wind on what it describes as a weekend evening strongly suggest sky lanterns. The witness rejects this explanation, but GEIPAN considers the account fully compatible with it and lantern releases very common, classifying the case B: probable sky lanterns. The source also notes that 2 February is Candlemas, traditionally celebrated with torches or candles. GEIPAN's brief internet search did not identify anyone responsible for a release.
