A witness closing shutters saw several luminous objects pass silently in succession from north to south. The Bordeaux Météociel record gives a northwesterly wind of 22–33 km/h and cloud cover of 5/8, described in the source as lightly cloudy. Given the wind direction, lanterns could have been released from Quai des Chartrons. The source also notes that Bordeaux celebrated Tết on 8 February, a third date distinct from both stated sighting dates. The case is classified B: probable sky lanterns.
