PULNOY (54) 19.03.2014

On 19 March 2014 at 22:15, a person closing the shutters in Pulnoy (54) saw several stationary luminous cylindrical-looking objects in the sky; see the investigation report. Similar observations followed. A female neighbor also saw very bright lights but considered them identical to stars. Only 1 account was collected. After an on-site investigation, GEIPAN considered it very likely that the unusual shapes resulted from the witness's cataract and presbyopia. The source expected the recurring observations to cease following cataract surgery planned for August 2014. A questionnaire from witness 2, the neighbor, was also expected to support or contradict the explanation. Pending either outcome, GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable star observations affected by impaired vision.
