Case description

On 20 April 2014 at 21:37, a witness in Treuzy-Levelay (77) watched 3 yellow-orange luminous balls move south to north for 2 minutes. They appeared larger than an aircraft, seemed incandescent and disappeared leaving a trail. He took photographs. GEIPAN finds this typical of sky lanterns moving slowly, straight and low with the wind on a weekend evening. The source's Météociel record for “Melin” confirms a light southerly wind. GEIPAN classifies the case B: very probable sky lanterns. Because strangeness was low, it did not seek the people responsible for the release.
