Case description
On Sunday 8 June 2014 between 13:00 and 14:00, a witness observed and photographed a gigantic grey-blue circle around the Sun. GEIPAN identified this as a typical halo, a phenomenon produced under particular atmospheric conditions (see the source's 'Solar halo' reference). A small bright point in the upper-left part of the photograph, inside the halo, was a stray reflection of the Sun produced by the camera optics. GEIPAN classified the case A: solar halo.
