Early in the morning, a witness at his window saw a very bright orange light, mostly stationary, between 2 trees. It disappeared after 2 minutes. GEIPAN identifies Capella, then at about 15° elevation to the north-northeast, matching a star-like point that moved little or not at all. Its low elevation favours colour changes through scintillation. Reported clouds explain disappearance after 2 minutes. Although the witness said north, the street and building layout suggests the Velux roof window faced north-northeast. The only large trees between which the light could have been seen were also in that direction. GEIPAN classifies the case A: Capella.
