JUVISY-SUR-ORGE (91) 25.07.2014

On 25 July 2014 at about 23:20, a group saw 5–7 orange lights pass silently above a forest, climb and loop before disappearing. This is typical of sky lanterns: red envelopes, group movement, ascent or drift with that evening's north wind, disappearance through extinction after a few minutes, and a Friday evening suitable for releases. Southward movement toward Grigny and Évry matches the north wind recorded at Orly. The lanterns probably crossed the Seine and encountered turbulence there. GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable sky lanterns.
