At 20:40 on 31 July, a witness and family in Lorgues (83) saw a dark object apparently the size of an airliner in a clear sky. The title gives 2014, while the narrative contains the malformed year “20474.” It moved slowly and silently east to west, oscillating and apparently rotating, with occasional glints. No trail or halo was seen. The source says only 1 account was collected, but later describes precise, independent statements from 3 witnesses who knew one another. No photographs were taken. GEIPAN considers the evidence good. The unfamiliar appearance and unusual behavior make the observation strange, but its speed, size, shape, color and path contain no extraordinary feature beyond possible explanation.
