A witness saw about 20 orange-red spherical objects disappear behind village houses. He thought of sky lanterns but was unfamiliar with them. GEIPAN considers a weekend-night group of orange lights strongly suggestive of lanterns. Nearly calm conditions make a wind comparison difficult. No other witnesses or press or internet reports were found to confirm the explanation, despite its very high probability. The case is classified B: probable sky lanterns released after a private celebration.
