Case description
Around midnight on the night associated in the archive with August 15, 2014, a woman saw two bright orange lights moving slowly and silently. She woke her companion. The first lights disappeared and three others followed, passing in front of the Moon. GEIPAN considered this succession of orange-to-yellow circular lights, seen for minutes around a holiday, strongly suggestive of nearby sky-lantern releases. Their eastward motion was compatible with the light southwesterly wind recorded at Bergerac. The case was classified B: probable sky lanterns.
