GEIPAN considers the reported lights typical of an aircraft. It explains that powerful flashing lights can dazzle an observer and obscure the weaker steady red and green navigation lights and the fuselage; the cabin is dimly lit for landing. A Flightradar record shows Turkish Airlines flight TK1829, an Airbus A321 approaching Roissy, making a loop just north of Deuil-la-Barre, probably awaiting its turn to land. GEIPAN classifies the case A: an aircraft in a holding pattern before landing.
