CANCALE (35) 11.11.2014

Around 06:00 on 11 November 2014, a witness in a campervan by the sea at Cancale (35) saw a round white light first move slowly, then accelerate and zigzag along the coast. After 20 minutes it disappeared at the horizon. Only 1 account was collected. The summary describes a beam of light. The investigation considered a boat moving in Mont-Saint-Michel Bay, a low-flying helicopter along the Granville coast, an aircraft approaching Granville airport with landing lights on, and another aircraft flying over the area with its lights on; see the report. GEIPAN favoured a civil-protection or coastguard helicopter with a searchlight flying along the Granville coast, and classified the case B.
