CONFLANS-SAINTE-HONORINE (78) 05.12.2014

On Friday 5 December 2014 between 19:45 and 19:50, a walker in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine saw 5 very bright red-orange lights move silently through the night sky. No other account was obtained. GEIPAN considers orange balls crossing the sky in a few minutes on the eve of Saint Nicholas's Day strongly suggestive of sky lanterns, probably released nearby after a private party. Their west-to-east movement was compatible with the light southwest-to-west wind recorded at Pontoise by Météociel. GEIPAN classifies the case as B: probable sky lanterns.
