On 16 December 2014 between about 02:00 and 02:15, a witness reported noticing a strong light outside, then going onto the terrace and seeing a golden-yellow oval object move slowly and silently above the treetops opposite the house. A photograph was reportedly taken during the 5–10 minute sighting, before the object departed vertically at high speed. The summary describes its color more generally as orange. The submitted image proved to be a cropped version of a 1981 photograph by a Mexican photographer named Carloz Diaz in the source (see “1981 the beginning of contact” for the full image). The witness remained evasive, providing no details or clear answers to questions (see the investigation notes). Given the image evidence and lack of precise replies, GEIPAN concludes that this was a hoax and classifies the case A: hoax.
