MOUCHAMPS (85) 25.12.2014

On 25 December 2014 around 19:15, 2 people in Mouchamps saw an incandescent trail moving through a clear night sky before disappearing suddenly. The source summary describes its light as fiery yellow, then blue-white. No particular sound was heard. A third person in the village also saw it, but only 1 questionnaire was obtained. Based on the investigation report, GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable observation of a flying object of the Thai sky-lantern type under particular wind conditions. It did not search for whoever released the lantern, so it describes the explanation as very probable but not certain.
