VER-SUR-LAUNETTE (60) 30.12.2014

On 30 December 2014 at 04:20 in Ver-sur-Launette (60), a witness saw a matt yellow ball rapidly cross the clear night sky from north to south before trees quickly hid it. There was no sound or trail. Only 1 account was collected. On the investigation report's evidence, and pending further information requested from the witness, GEIPAN could not favour any hypothesis. The account has moderate evidential substance: fairly precise and detailed but old, from a single eyewitness with no photographs or video. The observation might be moderately strange, but the age of the account prevents a properly reliable assessment of strangeness. The case is provisionally classified C: unidentifiable on the available evidence, with too much information missing for a firm opinion.
