PAREMPUYRE (33) 08.01.2015

On 8 January 2015 at about 19:35, a witness in his vehicle in Parempuyre saw 5 points of light through a gap in clouds for 1 minute. Three were perfectly aligned, with the other 2 completing a diamond-shaped arrangement. A few days later, the witness found the explanation himself by seeing the same arrangement in the same direction under a clear sky: the 3 aligned bright points were Orion's Belt, as shown on the astronomical chart. Isolation from the surrounding stars by clouds had temporarily made the pattern seem unusual. GEIPAN classifies the case as A: a definite sighting of Orion through clouds.
