On 10 January 2015 at 18:08, a driver in Communay (69) saw 2 very bright points low in the sky and took a photograph. No other account was collected. GEIPAN finds the 2 lights separated by a dark mass suggestive of an aircraft at low or medium altitude. Flight Radar data at 17:01 Universal Time show a Nantes–Lyon flight over Communay below 2,500 m; see the screenshot. The source retains that recorded time alongside the 18:08 report. Perceived direction changes could also reflect observing another aircraft in this busy area. For example, an hour later 3 HOP aircraft passed a few minutes apart northwest to southeast below 2,500 m at the same location. GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable low-flying aircraft.
