GUERTING (57) 11.02.2015

On 11 February 2015 around 18:40, a witness and his son in Guerting saw a white point of light moving through the sky faster than an airliner. It passed above the building’s roof and faded until it disappeared. GEIPAN considers the description typical of a large satellite. Calsky records confirm an International Space Station pass at exactly that time, matching the witness’s diagram. GEIPAN notes an error in the reported starting azimuth caused by a misunderstanding when completing the form. The case is classified A: observation of the International Space Station.
