Case description
On 3 March 2015 at 09:30, a witness looking through a roof window saw a translucent sphere and a bright white triangle cross a clear sky and disappear northward along a straight path. No particular sound was heard. The sighting lasted less than 10 seconds within a restricted view, and no other account was collected.
The brevity and narrow window prevent a reliable trajectory assessment. The sphere could be a balloon drifting with the south wind recorded at Melun by Météociel. The flashing triangle suggests an aircraft. Flightradar showed a possible aircraft visible from the location, but it was too high to appear triangular and was traveling southeast rather than the reported north. A drone with flashing LEDs is another possibility, impossible to check without other clues.
The short duration and narrow view leave only weak evidence for a case of moderate strangeness. GEIPAN classifies it C: insufficient corroboration.
