PLOUHINEC (29) 07.03.2015

On Saturday 7 March 2015 at 21:33, a witness in Plouhinec briefly saw 4 pale white lights move slowly and silently in a straight line before disappearing into cloud. No other account was collected. GEIPAN considers luminous balls crossing the sky in a few minutes on a weekend night strongly suggestive of sky lanterns, probably released nearby after a private party. The movement from west toward north is considered compatible with the southerly wind recorded at Quimper by Météociel. GEIPAN notes that the actual observation was very brief and the available information imprecise, giving the case little evidential strength. It nevertheless classifies it as B: probable sky lanterns.
