CAPESTANG (34) 08.04.2015

On 8 April 2015 at about 19:15, a witness on a sofa beneath a roof window in Capestang (34) saw a bright white flying object with V-shaped wings and no visible logo. It curved, then climbed vertically very rapidly, becoming a white line against the clear sky before disappearing. The 1-minute observation allowed him to draw its shape. GEIPAN finds the appearance and behavior suggest a radio-controlled flying-wing model. The source refers to a video of a similar radio-controlled flying wing with remarkable performance. The witness lived less than 150 m from a sports area suitable for model flying, within radio range and in view. Late Wednesday afternoon was a plausible time for the activity. Without being able to verify it, GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable radio-controlled model aircraft.
