THYEZ (74) 24.04.2015

Between 22:30 and 23:00 on Friday 24 April 2015, a father and his children were lying on a terrace in Thyez (74), watching the stars. The father noticed a dark delta-wing-shaped shadow moving very fast and straight south. No unusual sound was heard during the 2–3 seconds before he lost it in the distance amid light pollution. No additional accounts were collected. GEIPAN considered a nocturnal bird of prey, such as an owl or eagle-owl, flying over the observer compatible with this brief dark shape. His home was on the forest edge, making it possible, but there was no evidence to support the hypothesis. The witness suggested a stealth aircraft; GEIPAN notes that such aircraft evade radar but are not particularly quiet and usually fly high. The brief account and lack of corroboration led to class C.
