On 4 May 2015 at 10:05, a witness at home in Paris saw a sparkling object move slowly through the daytime sky. No other account was obtained. GEIPAN considers its changing reflections and slow movement characteristic of a metallized Mylar fairground balloon that had escaped its owner. Such balloons come in many shapes and colors; the source suggests an image search for 'ballon mylar' as illustration. Once released, they rotate, producing changing appearances and reflections like those visible in the witness's photographs. The account is not precise enough to establish the trajectory and compare it with the local wind. GEIPAN classifies the case as B: a probable child's balloon.
