On 31 May 2015 at 00:15, a witness saw a light move south to north. Soon more than 10 white and red lights appeared, moving silently. No other account was collected. Successive red or white lights crossing the sky over a few minutes on a weekend night strongly suggest sky lanterns, probably released nearby after a private party. South-to-north travel matches the wind recorded at Évreux by Météociel. The triangular shape described by the witness may be the lantern's brightest portion; the attached GEIPAN photograph shows a roughly triangular illuminated section. GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable sky lanterns.
