PERREUX-SUR-MARNE (LE) (94) 08.06.2015

On 8 June 2015 at 02:30, a witness looking through a roof window in Le Perreux-sur-Marne (94) saw about 10 red-orange lights move silently in a straight line and progressively disappear. Only 1 account was collected. GEIPAN considers a passage lasting less than 1 minute, on what the source calls a weekend night, strongly suggestive of sky lanterns released nearby after a private celebration. Their arrival and progressive disappearance fit sequential launches of objects lasting a few minutes depending on the burner. Movement was east to south, considered compatible with wind described in the source as northwest to “north-north” at Neuilly-sur-Marne. It also cites Infoclimat at Roissy, 20 km away, reporting light northwesterly wind. The case is classified B: probable sky lanterns.
