Case description
A Brazilian vehicle-interference report from early June 1967 concerns a motorist near Itajubá, Minas Gerais, around 1:30 a.m. NICAP gives June 6, while H. B. Aleixo’s contemporary Flying Saucer Review discussion and Vallée’s Magonia catalogue give June 7. The illustration therefore uses the month rather than concealing that disagreement.
The motorist reportedly encountered a bright object of generally mushroomlike form. A rectangular or quadrangular projection extended beneath its main body. When it came close, the vehicle’s electrical system allegedly failed. Through a brightly illuminated transparent portion, the witness said he saw unusual faces. Later HUMCAT-derived summaries identify the driver as Geraldo Baqueiro, describe his vehicle as an ambulance and characterize the faces as catlike. The contemporary FSR paragraph records strange faces without supplying that detailed anatomy.
Aleixo cites a statement made to GEOANI and uses the incident as a comparison in an article about the separate Baleia case. That context should not transfer Baleia’s occupants or apparatus into Itajubá. Likewise, the inherited record’s appended Project Blue Book passage concerns Galesburg/Moline, Illinois, in March 1967 and has no established connection with this Brazilian episode. No authenticated photographs or original vehicle examination were located here. The plate keeps the occupants inside the bright object and treats the feline wording cautiously.
