Open this case in the interactive AtlasCase description
On 15 July 2015 at 23:45 in Romilly-sur-Seine (10), a witness watching stars saw a satellite pass, then was surprised by a triangular flying object described as formed by “3 faint orange circles at each end.” The fleeting phenomenon disappeared rapidly to the northwest in a clear sky. It lasted 5 seconds. Only 1 account was collected.
GEIPAN rates the account's evidential substance as moderate: imprecise, from a single witness without photographs. Strangeness is low because the phenomenon's behaviour and appearance are ultimately ordinary. Pending the witness's clarification of angular measurements, movement and some observing conditions, GEIPAN provisionally classifies the case C: unidentifiable on present evidence, with too much information missing for a firm assessment.
