SAINT-MARTIN-DE-PEILLE (06) 20.07.2015

On 20 July 2015, 2 people at home saw an object with lights of several colours moving slowly through the sky. They heard an engine drone. The UAP travelled straight from north to south for 4–7 minutes. Only 1 account was sent to GEIPAN. The investigation report notes colours matching aircraft navigation lights, their placement appropriate to the movement and observers’ position, a searchlight beam like those on civil-protection or gendarmerie helicopters, and engine noise like an aircraft’s. GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable helicopter. Because the sighting had low strangeness, it did not seek records from the national gendarmerie or air-traffic control.
