NIMES (30) 11.08.2015

On 11 August 2015 at 13:15, a family saw 2 black, boomerang-shaped objects with triangular fronts pass silently across the sky. Trees quickly hid them. The first moved straight; the second abruptly changed direction. No other account was collected. Nîmes-Garons weather records show wind switching from north in the morning to south in the afternoon. The sighting occurred during that reversal, so the precise local wind direction cannot be determined (see Météociel). The boomerang shape and nonlinear movement suggest a kite or radio-controlled model aircraft or drone (see the example video of illuminated drones or flying wings). The residential neighborhood is poorly suited to kite flying, especially in unstable wind. A radio-controlled flying wing fits the observation, but GEIPAN cannot check this without additional accounts, photographs or video. The case is classified C: insufficient corroboration.
