On 17 August 2015 at 07:04, a witness filmed a very bright white object with a mobile phone. Resembling an airship, it moved at constant speed high in the sky and gradually disappeared southward. The observation lasted 1 minute and puzzled the witness. The video shows an airliner at cruising altitude (see the investigation note). The source explains that stable atmospheric conditions prevented contrail formation, while atmospheric scattering made shaded or less sunlit areas blend into the surrounding blue sky. The wings became invisible while the fuselage remained bright, producing the airship appearance. Analysis took place too late to access flight records and confirm the aircraft's presence and identity. GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable aircraft misidentification.
