NARBONNE (11) 21.08.2015

At 23:13 on 21 August 2015, a witness by the sea at Narbonne (11) saw 3 white luminous star-like shapes forming an isosceles triangle move silently in a straight line. He looked away to call someone and could not find them again. The sighting lasted about 7 seconds; only 1 account was collected. GEIPAN assessed the case as moderately strange but sufficiently supported and considered a flock of birds lit by a local source possible; see the investigation notes. The sea and a nearby lighting bollard reported by the witness fitted this. However, the explanation remained weak without verification or another witness, and the very brief sighting left important details uncertain. GEIPAN classified the case B: possible misidentification of white birds illuminated by urban lighting.
