On Saturday 29 August 2015 at 21:26, a witness on a terrace watching stars and an aircraft saw a light to the northwest brighten, then fade away. Only 1 account was collected.
The account describes an apparently stationary point, a 10-second duration and star-like brightness, typical of an Iridium flare. The source's “immole” appears to be a typo for stationary.
The exact noted time of 21:26 and northwest direction match an Iridium 54 flare with peak magnitude −6.6 (see the investigation note).
GEIPAN classifies the case A: Iridium flare.
