MORVILLE-SUR-SEILLE (54) 11.09.2015

On 11 September 2015 at about 03:00, 2 people in a car near Morville-sur-Seille (54) noticed a white light in the sky. They stopped, and the object changed direction with a humming or whirring sound. One witness took 3 photographs. Only 1 account was collected. GEIPAN notes unusual features: an initially stationary luminous ball began moving and departed with a hum, without a radar record. A maneuvering helicopter too low for radar detection is possible, although such activity at 03:00 in open countryside, unknown to the local gendarmerie, would be surprising. The evidential basis also has shortcomings. The witness did not respond to repeated appointment requests for an on-site investigation. Earlier requests for precise sky positions and an account from the spouse who was also in the car had likewise gone unanswered. A site visit could have supplemented the account and possibly resolved the unusual features. GEIPAN classifies the case C: no response from the witness.
