On 13 September 2015 at 20:30, 2 people on a balcony saw 5 yellow-orange points of light rise silently across the sky. Three formed a triangle. Only 1 account was collected. The attached investigation report supports sky lanterns for the following reasons: - Orange or yellow-orange color matching lanterns. - A number typical of a group release. - Simultaneous windborne movement producing a shape-perception illusion. - Travel with the prevailing wind and low speed consistent with little or no wind. - A 1–2 minute observation compatible with lantern lifetimes. - A Sunday evening, suitable for festive releases. - Disappearance as the lantern flames reached the end of their burning time. - No sound. - Nearby open-air facilities suitable for releases, in the observation direction. GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable sky lanterns.
