BALLON (72) 20.09.2015

On 20 September 2015 at 16:52, a witness visiting the Donjon de Ballon (72) during Heritage Day took photographs, including a landscape through windowpanes, without noticing anything unusual. At home, reviewing the landscape image, he saw 3 sharp bright points against the blue sky. Enlarging it, he was astonished to distinguish 3 groups of 6 lights, each arranged as a hexagon. No other account was collected. GEIPAN's analysis of the image series identifies reflections in the glass from a group of illuminated LED fixtures inside the room; see the investigation notes. An on-site inquiry confirmed those fixtures and reproduced the photographic effect; see GEIPAN's photographs. GEIPAN classifies the case A: reflections of lights behind the photographer in a window.
