On 3 October 2015 around 22:15, a witness closing his shutters saw three ogival, pointed objects above his neighbor's trees. Their alternating red, blue and green colors differed between objects. Initially stationary for several minutes, they then receded southward. He filmed them. His son and wife drove to the seafront to continue watching through binoculars. No sound was heard during the 10–15-minute observation. Only one account was collected.
The attached investigation report considers aircraft possible but unlikely because alternating blue, green and red colors match no conventional aircraft position-light arrangement. Sky lanterns are also unlikely for that reason.
Video analysis cannot confirm three distinct UAPs; their separation is unclear. It does show recession and matches an initial phase of little apparent movement followed by slow southward travel.
The reported apparent size and brightness are not confirmed. Streetlights in the footage provide brightness references, but recording began after the initial sighting, which may have been brighter. Such fading would also fit recession southward.
Following analysis and a visit to the witness's home, the most probable explanation is an LED balloon or three LED balloons. Regular color alternation, slow movement with the wind and silence match them. A seaside Saturday evening between 22:00 and 23:00 makes a celebration plausible. Comparing the witness's video stills with photographs of LED balloons also supports this explanation (see investigation report).
GEIPAN classifies the case B: LED balloons.
