SERENAC (81) 10.11.2015

On 10 November 2015 at 19:00, a witness outside his home in Sérénac noticed a colored glow in the clear sky. For 2–3 seconds he watched a luminous object move silently in a straight line, displaying 2 vivid colors: fluorescent green and pastel orange. Seen at the height of the top of a fir tree at the far end of the garden, it then passed above his house and out of sight. He noticed no trail. One account was collected. GEIPAN considers the sighting unusual. It cannot exclude a drone, although it regards that possibility as surprising given the darkness and the isolated setting of the few houses. The available information is insufficient to investigate an observation of this unusualness adequately: it lasted only about 3 seconds, and there is no additional evidence such as a photograph or another account. GEIPAN therefore classifies the case as C: insufficient information.
