EVRY (91) 24.12.2015

On 24 December 2015 at 18:10, 3 people in a tenth-floor apartment in Évry watched a luminous object pass silently for 45 seconds. Its colour changed between green, blue and orange. It passed above them and disappeared behind the building. Only 1 account was obtained. GEIPAN considers a multicoloured object flying low on a festive evening suggestive of a lighter-than-air object carried by the wind. The Météociel record for Orly showed a southwesterly wind compatible with its movement. The changing colours suggest an LED party balloon of a type illustrated in material referenced by the source. GEIPAN notes that these balloons were becoming increasingly common. The case is classified B: probable LED party balloon.
