On June 14, 2016, at 10:35 p.m., a witness in a garden saw several orange luminous balls pass successively and silently before disappearing southeastward. Only one account was collected. GEIPAN considered their shape, colour, arrangement and motion consistent with released sky lanterns. Their travel direction matched the recorded wind heading of 130–140 degrees. The case was classified B: probable sky lanterns.
