CONFLANS-SAINTE-HONORINE (78) 29.11.2016

On 29 November 2016 at about 00:20, a woman got up and noticed unusual lights through her bathroom window. A scintillating light grew and shrank, while a multicoloured scintillating hexagonal object appeared above the neighbour’s field. During about 20 minutes she took photographs and videos. Frightened, she woke her husband and then returned to bed. Video processing located the lights on the bathroom’s glass blocks, demonstrating beyond doubt that the observed forms came from a light source distorted by the blocks’ rippled surfaces (see the investigation report). The source itself was not identified. GEIPAN considers identification unnecessary because the unusual appearance is explained by the glass rather than the light. The case is classified A: reflection of an outdoor light.
